Practice Guide

 

The Ouline of the Project

All countries have their own original culture and history. We should respect the differences so that we can better understand other countries. In this way we can better understand and experience the Philippines culture. We need to learn about our own culture(literature, music and traditional play) and Philippines culture and share each other through ICT.

  • What we need : Internet-connected computer, scanner
  • Environment : multi-media room or small group cooperative classroom
  • Curriculum

    [Practical Korean] 1st~3rd  grade : Speaking/Listening/Writing
    [Social studies] 1st grade : an area study and social investigation
    [P.E] Dance, Sports
    [Fine Art] 1st grade : Expression of the main idea, understanding legacies
    [Music] 1st grade : Listening to the music of several culture and Utilization of music in daily life
  • What students already knew
    About subject :Literature (poetry, fiction, drama and narrative)
    About ICT : Sending e-mail, finding information on the Internet, Writing on a bulletin board
  • Learning Aims
      Students will be able to
    - express their feelings after reading works of literature.
    - tell the origin of traditional narrative, play and folk songs.
    - tell the differences between two countries' culture by doing several traditional plays
    - share their emotions by listening to the traditional music and popular songs.

Tasks

 ¨ç To understand and express creatively their feelings
 ¨è To research traditional play, narrative, folk song and dance
 ¨é To prepare some props which students need when they do
 ¨ê To upload the scene of the traditional play, dance and drama

Process

1st Step(1st~2nd week)

-Make a group of 4 or 5 and divide each role

 [The example of taking roles]

 ¨ç Reporter : researches traditional play, narrative, folk song and dance and arrange the materials

 ¨è Photographer : takes a photo of the scene of dancing, playing

 ¨é Painter : draws pictures related the article for easy understanding

 ¨ê Writer : collects pictures, photos and article

            edit them and upload edited ones on the Homepage

 ¨ë Searcher : finds information about the subject

2nd Step(3rd week)

-Each group presents their research in front of the whole class.

-They choose the best one of traditional story, play, fold song and dance through discussion.

3rd Step(4th~5th week)

-The writer organizes materials chosen.

-The teacher places a notice and send e-mail the teachers who  operate their school homepage to collect proper classes.  

- It is better to find schools in several regions such as a big city, country, and island.

-Writers attach the photos about the task they need.

-Painters draw some pictures about their task for easy understanding and scan them.

-The teacher helps students their materials to upload in the school homepage.

4th Step(6th week)

-The teacher uploads the materials the cooperative class sent on the school homepage. In case of need, he uses same style-form.

5th step(6th~ )

-To seek the cooperative classes continuously in various regions

-To have the homepage contain a lot of information

-To research  dialects

-We can use the peer-assessment and group assessment for objectivity

Anticipated effects

Students will be able to be proud of our culture through this project. They share their culture with other countries. They can get be interested in other countries' culture and history.

 

Aids

-The teacher doesn't let the students depend the Internet sites too much.

-Students use multimedia such as a camera, recorder and camcorder.

-Each student does his or her own role well.

-It is better to cooperate with the school or class located far from our school.

-In case of middle or high school, we can try to cooperate the school abroad.
